Education Technology Coach / Coach de Educación Tecnólogica
What is your role at DCB?
I am the Education Technology Coach. I teach technology classes to students in grades 2-5. I also work with all teachers to help them integrate technology into instruction. I purchase all technology for the school and work to ensure all technology is working and meeting the needs of student and staff.
What is your educational background?
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Saint Rose in Elementary and Middle School Education and a Master of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University in Instructional Technology. I have ten years of experience, including teaching students in grades 1-6, being a mentor teacher and working as a curriculum writer for the Prince George’s County Math Department.
Why are you passionate about your work?
I’m passionate about teaching and education because it has always been a priority in my life. My family always stressed the importance of education. I get to teach future doctors, lawyers, presidents, CEO’s, astronauts, teachers and millionaires. That’s a pretty amazing feeling.
What made you decide to follow this career path?
Growing up I was really fortunate to have some amazing teachers and knowing the positive affect they had on my life made me want to impact the lives of children in the same way. I always loved helping and working with children, even when I was a child myself.
