PK4 Spanish Teacher
What is your role at DCB?
I co- teach a PK4 class. I’m the Spanish lead teacher. Along with my team I design themed units of study to help students master academic and social-emotional standards. I also plan and deliver science and literacy lessons fully in Spanish.
What is your educational background?
How are you available to help parents and families?
I try to keep an open communication with the parents, and to make sure that they feel comfortable approaching me. I’m usually available before or after school when parents need to communicate day-to-day concerns or celebrations. I also make myself available to schedule meetings and talk with parents during planning times. I am willing to share resources, ideas, and materials (for academics, behavior or social-emotional) to help continue the children’s learning at home.
How can parents and families contact you?
Via text, call, or email.
Why are you passionate about your work?
I like being able to help others grow and learn, as well as being challenged to grow and learn myself every day. Another reason is I just REALLY enjoy being in the classroom teaching and learning with the students.
What made you decide to follow this career path?
My mom was an educator and both my parents were involved in education in different ways. I grew up hearing and seeing the importance of education as means to develop ourselves as individuals, but also as a society.

What about DCB appeals to you?
I really like that I’m always being challenged to better my practice. I think the school culture is one that pushes teachers to continue reflecting on and improving their practice no matter where they are in terms of experience and expertise. I like that I’m surrounded by professionals that are very knowledgeable, and experienced, but also willing to continue growing in a collaborative way.
