By building rapport with parents and families in order to gain trust and a sense of security. Being in communication with them in various ways- personal cell phone, text, email.
How can parents and families contact you?
Cell phone 240-330-9962 and email firstname.lastname@example.org
Why are you passionate about your work?
I really like to see the diversity of students and all the great qualities each have, and that no student is alike-each student has their own uniqueness. It’s rewarding to see a student smile, to see them learn, and develop in their own unique way. I enjoy helping them make positive changes, increasing their self-worth and self-empowerment. Working with students as a school counselor means that every day is a different experience and brings new challenges and that’s what makes this job so rewarding.
What made you decide to follow this career path?
Students need motivation, encouragement, nurture to succeed and view life in a positive manner and many times students do not receive this at home. I like to think that giving all my support and care will somehow make a difference in the lives of our students.
